Yoakum Grand Theater Celebrates Year Anniversary

Posted: Updated:

"It's my dream. It's really what I've wanted to do, and I am so happy that I make other people happy," Yoakum Grand Theater Owner, Tammy Steinmann said.

Its been a 16-year-long dream for Tammy Steinmann to re-open the Grand Theater. A passion for giving back to kids in the community, is what motivated Steinnman to pursue her dream.

"It was very important to me to get those kids to do something and not get in trouble. You know, to have somewhere to go and not have to travel out of town. It's been a dream, and a dream come true. It really is,"  Steinmann said.

In honor of their one year anniversary, the theater will host a free movie bash. Classic movies such as Grease and Gone with the Wind will hit the  renovated big screen for the first time since. Steinnman says local movie-goers have been grateful for the opportunity to have something to do.

"I think a lot of people in the community have watched more movies, since we've been open then they have in their life. So I'm happy, I'm happy," Steinmann said.

Not only does the Grand Theater show movies, but Steinmann's next venture is live theater. Next February, 'Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook' will hit the stage for a limited time. Click here for more information.
