High school football is back. Monday marked the first day that 1A-4A teams were able to start preseason practices. That started early for Cuero football, who kicked off their first practice Monday morning.
The Gobblers are coming off a season where they went undefeated in district and went on a playoff run that ended in the 4A Division II quarterfinals. Cuero is bringing back a lot of talent this year, including quarterback Drew Riemenschneider, tight end Bralen Taylor and receiver Jordan Whittington. In total, they have seven starters returning on both offense and defense this year.
Cuero's first scrimmage will be against Lockhart at Gobbler Stadium on Saturday, August 19.
