A man was found dead in the water near Port O'Connor on Saturday.
According to Kenneth Hawkins, assistant public affairs officer for the U.S. Coast Guard in Corpus Christi, a group on a boat saw the man's body floating in the water near the Matagorda jetties, called Pass Cavallo, around 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. The people who found him say the man appeared to be deceased, so they brought the body to shore so that it wouldn't float out further to sea. Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Calhoun County Sheriffs Office responded.
The identity of the man who died is not yet available. Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
