NIST 800-171 compliance training is being held on July 12, 2017. Laetare Cyber Security, LLC, a Baltimore cyber security company has scheduled NIST 800-171 compliance training on July 12, 2017. The event is being held in Linthicum, Maryland.
This mandatory training is for federal contractors and their employees who house, store, process, and/or transmit federal government data, in Non-Federal Information Systems and Organization. NIST 800-171 Compliance Certification is required for these individuals by the federal government by December 31, 2017.
Laetare Cyber Security, LLC is sponsoring this training, which will cover key issues such as:
1 – NIST 800-17. The training covers a thorough review of NIST 800-171 – the introduction, fundamentals and the 14 security requirements. This knowledge is essential to mapping the security requirements to the company’s controlled unclassified information (CUI) for non federal information systems. A review of the mapping tables is also part of the instruction.
2 – DFARS 252.204.7012. This is the mandated document from the National Records and Archives Administration. This review contains the security requirements, the type of information to be protected, and the information systems on which the information is processed or stored.
3 – Development of a Security Plan. The training covers the development of the required security plan. The intent is to instruct the students with the knowledge to begin and complete the security plan based on the CUI data that is housed in their non-federal locations.
