The newly launched leather-bound journal blends clean design with pieces of sails from boats that have literally traveled to the ends of the earth.

SANTIAGO, Chile, May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- With the look, feel, and design of a traditional black notebook, the Cape Horn notebook reimagines used sails from the world's most epic sailing expeditions as the ultimate storytelling tool.

The notebooks, which contain fragments of a sails that have traveled all the way to the southernmost tip of South America, aim to inject the dynamism of life at sea into everyday life.

Designed and created by Chilean designer Antonia Undurraga, herself an avid sailor, the notebooks merge two diverse industries - sailing and paper goods - into one product. While a myriad of bags, blankets, and clothing items have been developed using recycled sails, few products venture to create items that serve a purpose completely unique from the sails themselves.

The notebooks reference the stories that come out of life's greatest adventurers. Cape Horn, which lies on the southernmost tip of South America where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans collide, is considered one of the most challenging journeys for a sailor. "These notebooks aim to bring that same sense of adventure and pride into our everyday lives, whether that be in an office or at sea," she said.

"My hope is that the Cape Horn notebook will be a catalyst to tell those stories, whether it be as a journal or as a cool conversation starter. These notebooks should make you feel proud to be a sailor," she said.

The Cape Horn Notebooks are available on Amazon, the Cape Horn official store:

Cape Horn was founded by Chilean designer and avid sailor Antonia Undurraga with the goal of giving sailors a tool to find inspiration both on land and at sea. Each notebook is made from the sales of different racing yachts that have made the arduous journey to the southernmost tip of South America, making each notebook distinct from the next.
