VICTORIA - Today is National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
It's part of National Police Week from May 15 through May 21. This week is designated as a time to remember city, county, state and federal law enforcement officers who gave their lives to protect our communities.
Here in the Crossroads, local law enforcement agencies, including the Victoria Police Department and the Victoria County Sheriffs Office will honor those who have died in the line of duty with a memorial service today. The service will take place at 9:00 a.m. at DeLeon Plaza in Victoria. The public is invited to attend.
