It was win or go home for West baseball, as they headed into game two of the area playoff series against Medina Valley on Saturday. However, the Warriors dropped their second game of the series, 5-3, at Riverside Stadium to end their season.
In the fifth inning, Noah Rodriguez hit a two-run triple for West to even the game, 2-2. Then Nathan Alkek drove in an RBI to give West its third run. However, the Warriors gave up two runs in the final inning to lose, 5-3.
East baseball was also in area playoff action Saturday. The Titans headed on the road for game two with a 1-0 series lead over Dripping Springs. East dropped the first game, 8-2, to send it into a third game. Then in the final game, the Titans gave up ten runs in the fifth and sixth innings to fall to Dripping Springs, 14-4.
