DENVILLE, N.J., April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Federico Castelluccio may be best known for his work on the hit show, The Sopranos, but he is a true renaissance man managing three careers. Castelluccio is an internationally renowned realist painter, actor and director. He is a passionate art collector and connoisseur of old master, Baroque paintings. Castelluccio says "painting consumes my life, everything I look at, I look at it in terms of how I would paint it and how it might look on canvas or on film."

Castelluccio will be speaking at Vassar College on May 11th about the main disciplines in his life and will touch on his passion for collecting. This exhibition, organized by the Cornell Fine Arts Museum's Director Emeritus Dr. Arthur Blumenthal, is the first monographic presentation of the Late Baroque Neapolitan master Francesco de Mura. The exhibition features over forty loans from Italian collections as well as those from the United States, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Castelluccio has loaned four paintings by de Mura from his personal collection to this prestigious traveling exhibition. "I'm very proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to this very important, unprecedented exhibition coming to The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College," Castelluccio says.

"I feel very fortunate to be able to live my life through art. My goal as a painter, actor and director is to study nature and all natural things, and to interpret the beauty I find in nature with truth and integrity." Castelluccio is an award winning artist, with an eye for extremely rare paintings like the 17th century Saint Sebastian, by Guercino he discovered in late 2010.
