Reds avoid arbitration with P Leake

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds avoided arbitration with Mike Leake, signing the pitcher to a one-year contract on Wednesday.

Leake, the eighth overall pick of the 2009 draft, made a career-high 30 starts last season with the Reds, going 8-9 with a 4.58 ERA.

The right-hander has compiled a 28-22 record with a 4.23 ERA over his first three years in the majors.
