Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians signed outfielder Jeremy Hermida to a minor league contract on Monday.

The deal is contingent upon a medical review and Hermida's addition would give the Indians nine outfielders to open up spring training.

Last season, Hermida appeared in just 13 games for the San Diego Padres, hitting .250 with two RBI. The 29-year-old hasn't played a full regular season since 2009, when he hit .259 with 13 homers and 47 RBI as a member of the Florida Marlins.

Over 632 career games with the Marlins (2005-09), Red Sox (2010), Athletics (2010), Reds (2011), and Padres (2011-12), Hermida is a lifetime .257 hitter with 65 home runs and 250 runs batted in.
