The West boys powerlifting team competed
at the Asa Chambers Invitational powerlifting meet in Calallen on Friday. Almost
all of the team set at least one personal record. Four athletes finished in the
top five, scoring points for the warriors.
Marcus Hernandez finished 3rd
in the 123 pound weight class
Beau Burns finished 3rd in the 132 pound
weight class
David Ledbetter finished 5th in the 148 pound weight class
Matt Ramirez finished 5th in the 242 pound weight class
The
Warrior boys will compete at Milby High School in Houston in the last meet of
the "regular" season. This is the last opportunity the male powerlifters have to
qualify for regionals.
