The Victoria West Girls Powerlifting Team competed at
the Texas Strength System Invitational at Southside High School in San Antonio
on Wednesday. All seven members finished in the top four in their respective
weight classes.
Kellsey Brandt finished 4th in the 114 pound weight class
Chrysta Guerrero finished 2nd in the 114 pound weight class
Tavannah Kitchens finished 3rd in the 198 pound weight class
Elizabeth Neitch finished 2nd in the 198 pound weight class
Kindle Burns finished 3rd in the 132 pound weight class
Breanna Heller was the 132 pound weight class champion
and
Makayla McDonald was the 123 pound weight class
champion
Several athletes are in the running to qualify for the
regional Powerlifting meet. Makayla reached the automatic state qualifying
total which guarantees her a spot at the regional Powerlifting meet in Pharr on
March 2nd.
