Late Thursday night in Fort Worth, Jessie Martinez Jr. of Tuff Enuff Boxing of Victoria won his opening fight at the State Golden Gloves. Martinez defeated Gilberto Gonzales of the Rio Grande valley. Jessie Jr.'s coach and father, Jessie Sr., told me his son put on a flawless performance. Jessie Jr. fights tonight in the semifinals in the 132 pound Open Elite Senior class.
