Five VISD athletes won 30-4A track & field titles Wednesday at Gregory-Portland. West girls Saige McLarty won the high jump at 5-4 and Bailey Daniels won the triple jump at 36-8. East's Erica Barnett won the long jump at 15-10. Three West boys took first places, including Rashod Jackson in the triple jump at 44, Todd Mickey in the 3200 meter run, and Blayke Phillips in the high jump at 6-4. Jackson also took second in the long jump at 21-6. East girls that placed second were Kasey Heitzmann in the triple jump at 35-3.5 and in the pole vault with a personal best 10-6, and Ann Wozniak in the high jump at 5-2. Third place finishers include Mekel Tensley of East in girls long jump at 15-10, Tavannah Kitchens of West in girls shot put at 36-6.5, Blake Westbrook of West in the 3200 meter run, and Laken Williams of East in the triple jump at 42-8. Fourth place finishers include the Titans' T.J. Cleveland in boys shot put with a personal best 44-11.5, the Titans' Michael Gonzales in long jump at 21, and East's Josh Barefield in triple jump at 42 feet. Austin Greene of West was fourth in high jump at six feet, and Kassidy Heitzmann was fourth in girls high jujp at five feet. All of those athletes qualified for the Area meet next Wedensday at Gregory-Portland.
