East, West and St. Joseph played on opening day of the VISD Softball Tournament at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex Thursday. East first lost to El Campo, 9-1, then beat Goliad, 13-1. Dakotah Peterson was the winning pitcher in game two. Friday, the Titans first play Flour Bluff at 11:00 a.m., then they face East Bernard at 3:00 p.m.
West lost twice Thursday. First the Warriors lost to Pleasanton, 13-0 in five innings. Then West lost to Sinton, 6-1, with Makayla McDonald driving in the Warriors run. Friday, the Warriors first play at 9:00 a.m. vs. Runge then at 1:00 p.m. vs. Columbus.
St. Joseph won its opener over Goliad, 10-1, after getting six in the first. The Lady Flyers then lost to Flour Bluff, 8-1. The Lady Flyers on Friday play East Bernard at 11:00 a.m., then vs. El Campo at 1:00 p.m.
