The St. Mary’s Rattlers scored four goals in each half
Tuesday to hand the University of Houston-Victoria women’s soccer team its
worst loss in an 8-0 decision at Our Lady of the Lake University.
The eight goals were the most goals allowed by a UHV women’s
team since a 7-1 loss last season to Westminster College. Kaitie Kasperitis
with two first half goals and a third in the second half turned a hat trick to
lead the Rattlers (2-0-1).
The Jaguars (2-4) suffered their fourth straight loss and
were outshot by the Rattlers 21-10, including a 16-4 edge in shots on goal.
Megan Huerta, Alexis Hernandez, Nereyda Martinez and Ciara
Devore each had a shot on goal for the Jaguars.
UHV ends its five-game road schedule and returns home to The
Cage on Saturday to take on Schreiner University in a 2 p.m. match.
