University of Houston-Victoria’s Heather Shake closed out
her final round at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships with an 8-over
par 80 on Thursday.

The Pearland freshman making her first appearance as the
national tournament and finished with a 54-hole total 239, but unfortunately
was disqualified after her first round for use of a non-conforming club during
the round. Shake was one of five players disqualified during the first two days
of the tournament.

Shake was able to continue to play two more rounds after
the first round and put together rounds of 81-80 after opening with a 78. Her
239 total would have allowed her to finish at least in the middle of the
144-player field had she not been disqualified.

For the tournament, she finished with six birdies, 19
pars, 25 bogeys and two double bogeys at the 9,962-yard, par-72 Wilderness
Ridge Golf Course.
