The University of Houston-Victoria will play host to its final Association of Independent Institutions Conference championships when it hosts the men’s and women’s golf championships on April 26-27, 2015.
The Jaguars, who have hosted two previous golf championships, were awarded the conference championship bid on Tuesday.
UHV hosted the 2011 and 2013 golf championships and are in their final year as a member of the A.I.I. Conference. The Jaguars will be moving to the Red River Athletic Conference for the 2015-16 season.
Nine teams are expected to battle for the A.I.I. conference championship this year and a direct qualifying berth into the NAIA National Championships.
Along with UHV, teams expected to compete include Ashford University, California State-San Marcos, Fisk University, Northern New Mexico, Rochester College, SUNY-Delhi, the University of Victoria-British Columbia, and the defending champion for both the men and women - the University of British Columbia.
The men’s championship will be played at Victoria Country Club, while the women’s championship will be played at The Club at Colony Creek.
UHV’s Heather Shake is the women’s defending conference championship and will be back to defend her title
