University of Houston-Victoria women’s soccer coach
Adrian Rigby announced the signing of three more student-athletes to his
women’s soccer program for the fall 2013 season.

Among the signees are Cisco Junior College transfer
Daniella Breeding, and incoming freshmen Lydia Ornelas of El Paso and Lauren
Rogers of Groves.

Breeding, So., Midfielder/Forward, Houston

  Breeding is a
2012 graduate of Fort Bend Elkins High School and played one year for the Cisco
Wrangles. She played in 15 games and had four starts for the Wrangles where she
scored one goal, had one assist and took 12 shots. She has also played club
ball for Eclipse and Albion.

She plans to major in special education and early
childhood at UHV.

Rigby on Breeding: “Daniella will come to UHV after
spending one year at Cisco College playing under Freddy Drago. Daniella is a
quick midfielder who has the ability to beat her defenders on the dribble and
has the confidence to make the correct decision on the ball. We will be looking
forward to Danielle bringing her experience gained from Cisco College.”

Ornelas, Fr., Defender, El Paso

  Ornelas is a
recent graduate of El Paso Parkland High School where she earned all-district
honors her sophomore and junior seasons. She graduated in the top-10 percent of
her class. She has also played club ball for the El Paso Showtime, Lady
Gunners, Parkland Lady Matadors and is currently a member of the El Paso

She plans to major in biology at UHV.

“I chose UHV because it complements my love for soccer
while providing a top quality education,” Ornelas said.

Rigby on Ornelas: “Lydia is a hardworking outside back.
The coaching staff was impressed by her work rate when she attended our open
tryout last spring. We are excited about the energy and enthusiasm she will
bring to the 2013 women’s team.”

Rogers, Fr., Defender, Groves

Rogers is a 2013 graduate of Port Neches-Groves High
School where she served as team captain in 2012 and 2013. She was also named
the Defensive MVP in 2012-2013 and was a three-time first team all-district
selection. She is also a member of the Gusher United Soccer club.

She plans to major in chemistry at UHV.

“UHV has a calling for me, it’s a community I want to be
a part of,” Rogers said in making her commitment to UHV.

Rigby on Rogers: “Lauren is an athletic center back that
showed will in a recent combine event. She is very aggressive and strong on the
tackle. Lauren is a very vocal player that has the ability to organize the other
backs and make her job a bit easier. Although Lauren was a late addition to our
team we are as equally excited about her coming in and having the opportunity
to challenge for playing time as a freshman.”

The signings bring to 15 the number of players the
Jaguars have signed for the 2013 fall class.
