The University of Houston-Victoria’s Vance Edwards and
Nick Ver Elst have been named to the NAIA PING West All-Region Team announced
Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.



 



The duo was one of 15 players named to the West region
team.



 



Edwards, a junior from Corpus Christi, won one tournament
and had four top-10 finishes this year along with a 74.95 scoring average in
eight events. His best finish came at the St. Thomas Talamonti Invitational in
the fall where he won individual medalist honors with an even-par 144 after
rounds of 71-73.



 



Ver Elst, a senior from Brasschaat, Belgium, had five
top-10 finishes and compiled a 75.71 scoring average in eight events. His best
finish also came at the St. Thomas Talamonti Invitational where he finished
second with a 3-over 147 after posting rounds of 70-77.



 



Also named to the West All-Region Team were, Tyler Falk
of Northwest Christian; Jesse Heinly of Concordia (Ore.); Braeden Koran, Ryan
Odom and Scott Shefflette of California State-San Marcos; Conner Kozak, Nate
Ollis, Scott Secord and Jack Wood of the university of British Columbia; Brian
Murtagh and John Stimac of Lindenwood-Belleville; Thane Ringler of The Master’s
College; and Austin Sverdrup of Embry-Riddle Arizona.
