The
University of Houston-Victoria men’s golf team turned in two strong rounds
Monday and find themselves in fourth place at the Shootout in San Antonio Golf
Tournament co-hosted by Oklahoma City University and UT-Brownsville at the TPC
San Antonio.



 



The
Jaguars posted an opening round 300 and came right back with a 298 to set in
fourth place at 598 going into Tuesday’s final round. Oklahoma City holds the
lead at 587 (299-288), while Odessa College, the No. 1-ranked junior college in
the nation, is second at 590 and Wayland Baptist, the No. 1-ranked NAIA team,
is third at 591.



 



Steven
Jones paced the Jaguars with a 73-72-145, while William “Jake” Truss followed
with a 72-74-146. Nick Ver Elst is in with a 77-74-151, while Vance Edwards
added a pair of 78s for a 156 and James Walker was in at 89-79-168.
