University of Houston-Victoria junior reliever Andre Del
Bosque has been lights out for most of the season this year for the Jaguars and
his efforts have earned him Pitcher of the Year honors in the Association of
Independent Institutions Conference.



 



Del Bosque was one of three Jaguars honored with A.I.I.
All-Conference honors released Thursday during the A.I.I. Conference Baseball
Championships banquet in Lynn, Mass. Del Bosque was named the first-team
reliever, while Suescun earned first-team recognition as an infielder and
pitcher Cory Carter received honorable mention.



 



Del Bosque, a junior from Victoria, has a UHV season-high 11
saves and is 2-5 with a 1.78 ERA in 29 games this season for the Jaguars. In
60.2 innings he has allowed 17 runs on 39 hits and 18 walks, while striking out
a team-high 73 strikeouts.



 



Suescun, a senior from Houston, leads the Jaguars with a
.369 batting average, a .453 slugging percentage, a .447 on-base percentage, 27
RBI and 15 stolen bases, while he has nine doubles, three triples and 26 runs
scored.



 



Carter, also a senior from Houston, has a 1-3 record in 11
appearances this year for the Jaguars. In 47 innings he has allowed 44 runs on
57 hits and 31 walks, while striking out 51.



 



Fisher College’s Davidson Peguero was named the A.I.I.
Player of the Year.
