Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with former Buffalo Bills guard Andy Levitre.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but USA Today reports that it is a six-year, $46.8 million contract.
"He plugs in at left guard for us and immediately fills a need," said Titans general manager Ruston Webster. "He is a smart and athletic player, who plays with good toughness and leverage. He is a very good pass protector and his offensive lines have paved the way for two productive runners."
Levitre, a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, has played the past four seasons with Buffalo.
The 6-2, 305 pound guard was a key ingredient to a Bills offensive line that ranked in the top five in fewest sacks allowed (87) and average per rush (4.7) over the past three seasons. In 2011, the Bills led the NFL in fewest sacks allowed with 23.
Levitre has also shown to be very durable, as he is one of just three offensive linemen from the 2009 Draft to start every game since entering the league.
His durability is much needed for the Titans, who had four of their five starting linemen suffer injuries last season. In addition, seven-time All-Pro guard Steve Hutchinson announced his retirement on Monday.
