Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans announced a number of signings on Friday, including a deal for third-round draft pick Louis Nix III.
The Texans traded their first pick in the fourth and fifth rounds to Philadelphia to move up and select the nose tackle with the 83rd overall pick.
The 6-foot-2, 330-pounder was a 2013 preseason All-America selection, but had his season limited to eight games due to a knee injury.
For his career, Nix recorded 123 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 2 1/2 sacks as one of the nation's top run-stoppers.
The Texans also signed six other draft picks Friday, including fourth-round quarterback Tom Savage. Defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan, running back Alfred Blue and fullback Jay Prosch -- all sixth-round choices -- were also signed, as were a pair of seventh-rounders -- cornerback Andre Hal and safety Lonnie Ballentine.
Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Finally, the Texans also announced the signings of undrafted free agents: linebackers Jason Ankrah, Max Bullough, Terrance Lloyd, Chris McAllister and Chris Young; kicker Chris Boswell; defensive linemen Austin Brown, Tyrone Ezell and Sullivan Grosz; tight ends Chris Coyle and Anthony Denham; offensive linemen Matt Feiler, James Ferentz, Kevin Forsch, Chris Martin and Bryan Witzmann; and wide receivers Travis Labhart, Anthony McClung and Nathan Slaughter.
