St. Joseph softball won the TAPPS 4A Regional championship Monday at A&M, beating San Antonio Holy Cross, 10-5. Amanda Sorht was the winning pitcher. Mariah Clay hit a solo homer in the first. The Lady Flyers scored six in the fourth, St. Joe RBI's by Clay, Sohrt, Chloe Walther, Peyton Cuellar and Christine Janak. St. Joseph softball will now make its third trip to State in the last four years, and it's seventh trip in the last nine. The Lady Flyers take on Fort Bend Baptist Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Waco ISD Fields in the TAPPS 4A State semifinals.
