Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals announced on Monday that they will not tender a contract to infielder Chris Getz.
Getz played in 78 games for the Royals last season and hit .220 with one home run and 18 RBI. He lost his starting position at second base after the Royals acquired Emilio Bonifacio from Toronto in August.
In 449 career games with the White Sox and Royals, Getz has hit .251 with three home runs and 111 RBI.
