McLean, VA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners are not done with obtaining veteran arms to their rotation.

According to USA Today Sports, the Mariners have signed left-handed pitcher Joe Saunders to a one-year deal between $5-7 million, with an option for 2014.

The deal comes just after Seattle reportedly re-signed ace Felix Hernandez to a seven-year, $175 million contract, the largest for a pitcher in MLB history.

Saunders, 31, went 9-13 with a 4.07 ERA last season between the Diamondbacks and Orioles.

After being traded to Baltimore on Aug. 26, Saunders went 3-3 with a 3.63 ERA over seven starts.

In the postseason, he allowed just two earned runs in 11 1/3 innings and earned the victory in the American League wild-card game against the Texas Rangers.

Over eight years with the Angels (2005-10), Diamondbacks (2010-12), and Orioles, Saunders owns a 78-65 career record with a 4.15 ERA.
