Loudoun County, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Redskins have signed former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher and released center Will Montgomery.
Terms of Hatcher's deal, which was one of several signing announced Friday by the Redskins, were not disclosed. However, several reports said it was for four years and $27.5 million.
The Redskins cut ties with Montgomery, who was with the team since 2008 and had started every game in the last three seasons. They also signed unrestricted free-agent linebacker Darryl Sharpton and free-agent kicker Jake Rogers.
Hatcher played his first eight seasons for Dallas and had a career-high 11 sacks with 41 tackles in 15 games, all starts, this past season. He started all 16 games in the 2012 season and recorded four sacks and 51 tackles.
Sharpton comes to the Redskins after playing his first four seasons for the Houston Texans. He collected 87 tackles in 2013.
