Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers have acquired pitcher Hector Noesi from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Noesi made two relief appearances this season, posting an 0-1 record while allowing three runs in one inning of work.
The right-hander has a career 4-16 record with a 5.64 ERA in 66 games (21 starts) with the Yankees (2011) and Mariners (2012-14). He was acquired by the Mariners in a trade with the Yankees on Jan. 23, 2012, a deal that involved Jesus Montero and Michael Pineda.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Noesi, the Rangers transferred infielder Jurickson Profar from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. Profar opened the season on the 15-day disabled list with a torn muscle in his right shoulder.
