Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Texas Rangers center fielder Daniel Robertson was forced to exit Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers after colliding with teammate Alex Rios in the outfield.

Former Ranger and current Detroit second baseman Ian Kinsler lifted a fly ball into shallow center field to open the bottom of the third inning.

Rios charged in from right field and dove feet-first for the ball, while Robertson made a head-first attempt. Rios' left leg caught Robertson flush in the face as the ball hit the grass.

Rios alertly fired the ball into the infield before turning to check on Robertson, who remained face down on the field.

After meeting with the training staff for several minutes, Robertson got to his feet and walked off the field under his own power. He was replaced in center field by Leonys Martin.
