O's send Hunter to DL

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles placed closer Tommy Hunter on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, retroactive to Wednesday, with a left groin strain.

In his first season as Baltimore's primary closer, Hunter has gone 1-1 with a 6.06 earned run average and 11 saves in 19 games.

Baltimore recalled pitcher Preston Guilmet from Triple-A Norfolk to fill the vacated roster spot.

Guilmet, 26, has appeared in two games for the O's this season, striking out three in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
