There was National Signing Day activity at six area high schools. At East, offensive lineman Bo Pullin signed with North Texas, while offensive linemen Matthew Granz and Cullen Oliver signed with Oklahoma Panhandle State. At Calhoun, All-State running back Cory Williams signed with Eastern New Mexico, while offensive lineman Bobby Limon signed with Incarnate Word. At Hallettsville, All-State defensive back Dalton Herrington signed with New Mexico State. At Goliad, quarterback Dalton Sturm signed with UTSA, offensive lineman Austin Speed signed with Texas Lutheran, and two-time State track medalist Ashtin Zamzow signed with A&M. At West, four-time cross country Regional finalist Todd Mickey signed with Texas Tech. At Refugio, wide receiver Devon LaFrance signed with West Texas A&M, defensive back J.D. Brown signed with Texas Lutheran, and Bobcats head coach Jason Herring told me quarterback Travis Quintanilla, the all-time leading passer in Texas high school football history, has committed to A&M-Kingsville and could sign with the Javelinas as soon as Friday.
