An NFL player from Texas was in Victoria Friday night. Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes spoke to young people at Mount Nebo Baptist Church. Also speaking to the kids, former Stingarette basketball state champion Alexis Ware and former Viper girls hoops star Tanisha Barefield. Mt. Nebo pastor reverend Fred Hobbs told me this is part of the O'Neill Smith Lessons For Life. It's for ages 13-25, and it's goal is to motivate kids to believe in themselves, to inspire them to be a productive student and citizen in the community. Jerry told me how important this is to him.
