Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets continued their roster restructuring on Thursday, recalling relief pitcher Josh Edgin from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Edgin takes the roster spot of reliever Kyle Farnsworth, who was outrighted following Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the New York Yankees.

Edgin, a lefty, was 3-0 with a 4.97 ERA in 17 games with Las Vegas this season. He was expected to be on the big league roster entering training camp, but a lackluster spring training rusted in his demotion to Triple-A.

In 34 games with the Mets last season, Edgin went 1-1 with a 3.77 ERA. In 68 games over two seasons, he is 2-3 with a 4.14 ERA.

Farnsworth had spent the last few weeks as the team's primary closer, going 0-3 with a 3.18 earned run average and three saves over 19 games.
