Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners have recalled outfielder James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Jones, who played center field for a majority of the season until the Mariners acquired Austin Jackson from Detroit at the trade deadline, has batted .256 with eight doubles, four triples and nine RBI in 83 games. The speedy outfielder has also swiped 20 bases, getting caught stealing just once.

Seattle optioned right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez to Tacoma in order to make room on the roster for Jones. Ramirez went 1-6 in 14 starts this season for the M's.
