(SportsNetwork.com) - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was named the 2013 NFL Most Valuable Player and the Offensive Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) on Wednesday.
Manning, who set NFL records in passing yards (5,477) and touchdown passes (55), guided the Broncos to a 13-3 mark and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
This is his fourth NFL Offensive Player of the Year award from the PFWA.
St. Louis Rams defensive end Robert Quinn was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year. He led the NFC with 19 sacks.
