Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic announced Thursday that point guard Jameer Nelson has been diagnosed with a strained patella tendon in his left knee.

Nelson sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's 111-96 loss to Dallas and will be held out of Friday's game at Memphis as a result. The nine-year veteran is slated to be re-evualated when the Magic return from their current road trip on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Nelson, Orlando's longest tenured player, is averaging 14.5 points and a team-best 7.4 assists along with 3.8 rebounds over 43 games this season.
