LeBron, Kobe earn NBA's weekly honors

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Miami Heat's LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant were named the NBA Players of the Week in the Eastern and Western Conference, respectively, for the games played Feb. 19 through Feb. 24.

James averaged 23.5 points, 9.3 assists, 2.25 steals and 7.8 rebounds per game to lead the Heat to a perfect 4-0 record for the week. He recorded a triple- double on Feb. 23 at Philadelphia with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, as well as two double-doubles.

Bryant averaged 31.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists as the Lakers went 3-0 for the week. He scored 40 points on 15-of-23 shooting against Portland on Feb. 22 and finished the week by registering 38 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in a 103-99 win over Dallas.

Other nominees for the weekly award were Atlanta's Al Horford, Boston's Jeff Green, Charlotte's Kemba Walker, Golden State's Jarrett Jack, Houston's James Harden, Indiana's Paul George, Memphis' Zach Randolph, Miami's Dwyane Wade, Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook, Phoenix's Goran Dragic and Toronto's Rudy Gay.
