Kevin Martin breaks thumb, out indefinitely

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced shooting guard Kevin Martin will be sidelined indefinitely due to a broken left thumb.

The team disclosed an X-ray taken Saturday morning showed a non-displaced fracture of the distal phalanx.

The injury happened in the closing minutes of Friday's 98-91 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Martin appeared in 48 games this season and is averaging 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists and 32.3 minutes per game.
