Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians activated second baseman Jason Kipnis from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.

Kipnis, 27, landed on the disabled list on May 2 with a strained right oblique muscle. Prior to his stint on the DL, Kipnis was batting .234 with six doubles, three homers and 12 RBI in 27 games.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Indians optioned infielder Justin Sellers to Triple-A Columbus.

Sellers went just 3-for-16 (.186) in seven games with Cleveland this season.
