Hurricanes activate Gleason, Brent

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes activated defenseman Tim Gleason and forward Tim Brent from injured reserve on Thursday.

Both Gleason and Brent were suffering from lower-body injuries. Gleason had been on injured reserve since Feb. 12, while Brent was placed on the list Feb. 18.

Gleason has registered two assists along with 26 penalty minutes in 12 games this season.

Brent has posted two assists and eight penalty minutes in 13 games this season.

In addition, the Hurricanes assigned forward Jeremy Welsh and defenseman Michal Jordan to Charlotte in the American Hockey League and returned defenseman Ryan Murphy to his junior team in Kitchener.
