East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have signed wide receiver Mario Manningham, who played for the team previously from 2008-11.

Terms of the deal were not released, but the New York Daily News said it was for one year.

Manningham, 27, spent the past two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers but battled knee injuries and played in just 18 total games. He suffered a torn ACL in 2012.

In his last season with the Giants, Manningham's leaping catch on the sideline highlighted a game-winning 88-yard drive that lifted New York over New England in Super Bowl XLVI.

"Once a Giant, always a Giant. That's how I feel," Manningham said Tuesday, according to the team's official website. "This is a very special place. I wanted to come back."

He has 211 catches for 2,849 yards and 19 touchdowns in 67 games, including 50 with the Giants. His best season came in 2010 when he hauled in 60 passes for 944 yards with nine scores.
