Generals’ Big Run

Our special series, the top five local sports stories of 2012, starts with the Victoria generals.

For the third time in its four year history, Generals baseball made it to the TCL championship series. After taking game one, the generals fell just short of winning their second TCL title, falling to the east Texas Pump Jacks. Three generals made the all-TCL team, including former Viper and Warrior pitcher Jordan Pacheco and UHV’s Chad Kruse. Pacheco tied for the league lead in wins and won the championship series opener. Kruse finished in the top five in the league in runs and RIB's and was the only player in the league to appear in every game.

Our top five local stories of 2012 continue Friday night with UHV softball going to nationals.
