A great 18th birthday gift for Calhoun's former star quarterback Wednesday. Hunter Boerm got the call from an A&M assistant coach Wednesday telling Hunter he has officially been accepted as a preferred walk-on for Aggie football this season. That means last season's first team All-District quarterback for the Sandcrabs is on the Aggie roster and part of the football team, he is just not on full scholarship. Boerm, the district MVP as a junior, was 24-3 as Calhoun's starting quarterback and last year led the Sandcrabs to their first State semifinal in over half a century. Boerm reports to the A&M football team June 2.
