Flames update injury status of four players

Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Calgary Flames provided updates on the injuries of four players on Monday.

Forward Curtis Glencross, who was placed on injured reserve two days ago, was revealed to have suffered a high ankle sprain in a 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday and is expected to be sidelined for at least two months.

Defenseman Kris Russell sustained a second-degree sprain of the medial collateral ligament in one of his knees against the Penguins and is expected to be out of action for the next 4-to-6 weeks.

Blair Jones, a bottom-six forward, will be out indefinitely after a diagnosis of a torn meniscus in one of his knees, while defenseman Dennis Wideman remains week-to-week with a fractured hand sustained in late November.

The Flames currently rank 13th in the Western Conference with a 13-17-6 record. Calgary dropped the final four contests on their recent five-game road trip and kicks off a five-game homestand Monday against the St. Louis Blues.
