Cubs activate Strop

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Cubs activated pitcher Pedro Strop from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

In addition, the Cubs activated reliever Wesley Wright from the paternity leave list and placed pitcher Hector Rondon on the paternity list.

Strop was placed on the DL on May 7 with a left groin strain. The right-hander is 0-2 with one save and a 4.97 ERA in 15 relief appearances for Chicago this season.

Wright, who was placed on the paternity leave list on Tuesday for the birth of his daughter, is 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 18 relief appearances this season, his first with the Cubs.

Rondon is 0-1 with six saves and a 1.59 ERA in 22 relief appearances for the Cubs this year.

On Thursday, Chicago optioned pitcher Blake Parker to Triple-A Iowa.
