Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes announced Wednesday that the club signed forward Greg Carey to a one-year, entry-level contract.
Carey completed his senior season with St. Lawrence by leading his team and finishing second in the nation with 57 points and topping all players with 39 assists in 38 games.
Over his four-year collegiate career, the 23-year-old Ontario native compiled 84 goals and 101 assists over 152 appearances. Carey led the country with 14 power-play goals last season and was a Hobey Baker finalist after racking up 51 points in 38 contests.
The Saints, who finished the regular season eighth in the ECAC, saw their 2013-14 season ended by losing two straight in the quarterfinals to Colgate.
Phoenix is no stranger to signing top-level college talent, having signed 2011 Hobey Baker winner Andy Miele shortly after his RedHawks tenure was complete.
