Astros Coming To Victoria

The Houston Astros Winter Caravan will be making its way
to Victoria on Thursday, Jan. 23 with a special flag raising ceremony at the
University of Houston-Victoria.


Five members of the Astros organization, along with front
office personnel, are to be on hand Thursday for the ceremony set for 10::13 to
11:30 a.m. in front of the UHV Center Building on N. Ben Wilson St. The public
is invited to the festivities.


The Victoria stop will be the first of three planned for the
day by the Astros caravan. The group will also make stops in Rockport and
Corpus Christi.


Members of the Astros making an appearance in Victoria will
be broadcaster Milo Hamilton, former pitcher J.R. Richard, first baseman Chris
Carter, outfielder Mark Krauss and player development Quinton McCracken.


The event will kickoff at 10:30 a.m. with a short
presentation by Hamilton, followed by a special Astros flag raising by UHV head
coach and former Astros Terry Puhl. Following the event the Astros
representatives will be available for a short media session.


Puhl and Richard were Astros teammates in the 1970s and
