Astros, Albers agree to one-year deal

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Astros and veteran relief pitcher Matt Albers have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract.

Multiple media outlets, including the Houston Chronicle, reported the deal for Albers, who was originally drafted by the Astros in the 23rd round of the 2001 amateur draft.

The 30-year-old right-hander spent last season in Cleveland, where he went 3-1 with a 3.14 earned run average in 56 relief appearances.

Over eight seasons with Houston, Baltimore, Boston, Arizona and Cleveland, Albers has compiled a 25-31 record with a 4.49 ERA in 356 games, including 23 starts.
