Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics agreed to terms with catcher John Jaso on a one-year contract Thursday, avoiding arbitration.

Jaso batted .271 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games last year, which ended for him on July 25 after suffering a concussion.

He is a .258 career hitter with a .364 on-base percentage in 381 games over five seasons with Tampa Bay, Seattle and Oakland.
